She pulls gently out of Ciel's embrace, going to the table next to futon for a tissue. "Because if we took the time to truly enjoy ourselves, kitten. When we next looked up the world would be in ruins around our ears." She laughs wearily, coming back to offer Ciel the tissue box. She ignored the tissue and put her face into her hands. "But why? Why does it have to always be that way, my love? Why do we always have to care about ruining the world, or saving ourselves? I would rather go into oblivion with you than keep this world, all of it, in its rightful place..." She doubled over, her hands now wet. Her words were lost in her sobs and she seemed as though nothing would calm her heart... He watches the two of them for a moment before standing behind the couch, next to Ciel. He puts a hand on her shoulder. "We must earn these times, Ciel," he tells her softly. "It is not fair, but you are closer to achieving your happiness, your beloved, than you think. Enjoy the time you have now." "Why must we earn anything? Are we not allowed to be the slightest bit selfish...?" She slid her hand up and covered his hand with one of hers and leaned her head on Ere's shoulder. This was a hard time for her...she didn't understand... Then she closes them and leans against Ciel. "Kitten, Lysandor is right. We have to work for peace and safety now but once we have them we'll have time for each other. And it'll be better knowing we had to be apart, we'll never forget the pain of being separated and never take each other for granted again." She rubs her cheek against Ciel's hair as she speaks. Her eyes slowly close and she lets out a long breath, going bonelessly limp against Ciel, her legs curling halfway onto the Devilcat's lap. "If I can tame her... quiet her... then everything else will be a p-piece," Ereshkigal yawns widely, covering her mouth with her hand. "Of bloody cake. Good night, kitten.. falcon..." And Ere falls asleep on Ciel's shoulder. Her face is still a little wet, but for the most part, she's stopped crying. She moves Ere so that she is lying down and Ciel positions herself behind the sleeping woman so as to curl around her and keep her safe. She looks up to Lysandor and whispers. "I am so lost... what do we do now?" "We continue as we have," he replies softly, mindful of his "sleeping" queen. "While our Queen strengthens her control, we prepare Hell for her homecoming." He offers a slight smile. "We have seen centuries, some even millennia... What are a handful of months, maybe a year, to such as us?" "I did not mean to worry either of you." She looked up at him again. "Lysandor, why is she so tired? And sick? Is something the matter that she is not telling us?" He leans closer to inspect the Queen. "I would say that she is over-stressed," he replies, his brows drawing together slightly. "This exile has taken its toll on her, and I do not think she is taking as good of care of herself as she should..." She wanted him to tell her everything. Somehow she knew he was leaving something out, but she didn't want to fight it. She wanted to keep her loves safe. She petted Ere's hair and kissed the top of her head, whispering to her love. "Perhaps she should take better care of herself then." It was clear that she wanted him to hold her as she held her sleeping love. The Devilcat was feeling very thin-spread as she tried to make her eyes ask him what she dared not as with her lips. She was trying not to break down again, or be melancholy. That's the last thing any of the three of them needed. She just needed to hold out on that until she could go to pieces where her sick love could not see. The poor Queen had enough to worry about. Please. Please, Lys. For me. As well as for her. Come to us and share your strength. He lets his arms droop down the back of the couch, one draping over Ciel, the other moving down to the Queen. He doesn't embrace them, not wanting to compromise his manueverability in case they were attacked, but he hopes the touch will be enough. "The High Chancellor should be informed of her condition, and what it means," he says. "Perhaps he can get her to take better care of herself, if no one else." Him being as near as he was would have to do for now. She was still worried. She flicked her eyes to her lover's sleeping face and then back to her other love's sterling eyes. "And just what is her condition? Lysandor, if there is something that the two of you feel that you should hide from me... I will respect that. However, if you are merely keeping it from me to spare my feelings, you will find that my concern will make me nosy." Her voice grew softer as she petted Ere's hair. "Please, tell me what is wrong with her... why is she sick? I cannot bear to see her so tired and worn..." Her plea trailed off a bit and she sighed, closing her own orbs. She didn't want to cry.... she wouldn't... not again.
