Down in the main hall of the Library centered between the great book cases, Vetli and Ciel calmly stroll the stacks as Vetli recounts to Ciel of the grand history of the Market Library. He speaks softly to her not to disturb the others, but loud enough to bring elegance to his words. As they wander the tall bookshelves, the story woven is one of wonder and mysticism in Ciel's glassy eyes.
Tre'Maya returns and descends to the glossy polished lower floor by her great wings as she drifts down softly landing on her toes in a steady walk to meet with Ciel and Vetli. Her wings tuck tightly as she walks swiftly toward the browsing duo.
This day has been long, but the real education is about to begin for the new lady Ciel. The anticipation is thick in the air, and the hopes of all are very high...

Vetli continued to prattle on about the books and the Library's function in a Lady's life and career and he himself had barely heard his mistress as she touched down to meet them. He almost stopped midsentence, but finished his thought. And as you know, Lady Ciel, reading is and has always been a very distinguished and important skill to have. Have you any more questions for me, my dear?
He was watching Ciel's childlike wonder and beaming at Tre'Maya behind her. He knew Ciel would make it, even being as rough as she was around the edges...she'd be fine with a bit of careful polishing.

Ciel's eyes were wide with wonder as Vetli spoke. She asked him many questions and followed him diligently. She barely heard Tre'maya alight behind them and she sashayed in place without noticing. "Oh yes Master Vetli, I have many more questions to ask you! I cannot even think of where to begin!"
She was nervous and excited and she bounced around almost like a child. The professor was smiling wide at her and she was proud of herself for having kept her composure that long. She couldn't help but be jumpy. She wanted so much to do well for Lady Tre'Maya, and for the Chancellor. Especially if it meant that they found her Queen more quickly because of it.
"I suppose I could start..." Her face went stationary for a moment as the rest of her twitched.

Tre'Maya mirrored Vetli's smile and nodded to him. He bowed slightly while the poor Devilcat was thinking and the Lady spoke up.
Perhaps, my dear, we should start at the beginning.
The effect was almost instantaneous. Ciel swirled around to meet her face, Vetli came around the side to bow to Tre'Maya and Ciel automatically sunk down to one knee in front of her, apologizing profusely. Tre'Maya chuckled to herself and leaned down to lift the dancer's face so that she could see the Lady's eyes.
There is much for you to learn, Ciel. But we shall start with the most obvious, shall we? First, when a Lady is walking, she does not walk. She glides. Almost as if she were a ghost on slippered feet. This helps to give the Lady the subterfuge she needs when approaching anyone, whether she knows them or otherwise. And it allows her to make her proper introductions when she is ready, as well as allows her the time to ready herself for being escorted to or from a place.
She waited for that to sink in, she began to make the dancer stand and continued on. The girl would catch up eventually.
In watching you, my dear, I have noticed that you have about you a natural grace of movement. This is highly commendable. However, your movements are more suited for the grace of a tavern dance than for a court function. Stand straight, knees slightly bent and hold your arms in a beautiful liine at your sides. Smile, always smile. It is most important, even when dealing with beings that are not of the best quality or temperament. A smile, my darling cat, can mean much more than happiness. Do you understand?

Ciel stood when the Lady bid her to and nodded in all of the right places. "Yes, milady. I understand."
She was even more nervous now that Tre'Maya had actually shown up. With Vetli, she had not been under such scrutiny with movement, he merely wished to expand her mind. Now her nerves were getting worse and all her body wished to do was fidget.
But, she fought the urge and tried to stand as the Lady bid her. It hurt, and was more rigid than her usual stance. She even tried to smile without wincing, but somehow it wasn't possible.
She tried more and as she felt the burn of the new ways, she kept smiling into Tre'Maya's eyes, hoping that the Lady would not think her horrid and stupid for being in pain.

Tre'Maya picked up on the poor thing's nerves and noticed her slight wince. Her face softened the slightest bit as she motioned for Vetli to come to her side and see Ciel from another angle.
I see your discomfort, dear. And I am very sorry to have to put you through this, however, if you are to become a true Lady of Hell's court, then you must learn to restrain your movements and use the restraint as a pen for your wild energies.
Restraint will be the key word in most of your lessons. It makes you look strong, polite, more beautiful and very contained. No one should know otherwise unless they are a trusted associate, or they are someone that you have been chosen to do away with. Always, always, always return a courtesy given you. No matter who it is that gives it. That will confuse your enemies and delight your clientele, showing them that you are an accomplished Lady of good standing, she paused here to wink at Ciel lightly, even if in your heart you are a court pet and dancer.
She paused for breath, watching the poor girl drink in all of the new information like a sponge, yet still trying to keep her position without wincing. She admired Ciel's work ethic, and hoped that she would make it through all of this. She wanted the dear to succeed.
Vetli spoke next. Lady, do you not think that if Lady Ciel is to learn proper walking and standing, that she should learn proper dress as well? I believe that would help her with her posture and such, in all categories.
Tre'Maya nodded. Yes, I do believe that that would aid her, Professor. Thank you for the suggestion.

As Tre'Maya and company begin the lessons Regent softly and quietly enters the Library hall. He watches with glee at Ciel and her eagerness to make him proud of her. He watches her as a father would his child at their first play dress rehearsal and his heart is pricked with real joy.
The shadowy lord rematerializes leaning on the railing of the Grand Stair. He over hears Tre'Maya speak softly and as Vetli mentions wardrobe reassignments, Regent nods to the administrator who warrants Regent presence with a knowing glance.
He straightens his form and he teleports over to them with a flash of fire and rain of glittery sparks. His ghostly voice is soothing like a forbidden lovers whisper in their ears, low, soft and playful. "I couldn't agree more with you professor, a lady must be properly attired to slip into role most effectively."
He stands straight and tall as he looks to Ciel with the same fatherly smile and a glint in his eye, "We shall have to make her the bell of the ball." he says with a knowing glance to Tre'Maya.

Ciel was trying and she was glad that they noticed. She really wanted to make this work.
When Vetli mentioned clothing, her eyes sparkled. When the Chancellor showed up to second that thought, she was positively bouncing with excitement.

Tre'Maya smiled as Ciel stood straight and kept her posture, even through the discomfort. She was really doing very well. When the Chancellor showed himself, Tre'Maya and Vetli both acknowledged his presence. Tre'Maya returned his knowing glance and nodded.
Yes, Chancellor, we very well shall have to make her the belle of the ball. I have no doubt that she will outshine almost any Lady in the whole of Hell's courts. Even myself.
Vetli noticed Ciel's great energy and tapped her leg. Now, now Lady. Even when you're excited, you should really try to look calm and composed. All this jitterin' around makes you look like a kitten and we can't have that can we? He finished his statement softly and nodded to her.

Ciel blushed as she was complimented by Tre'Maya. "Oh Lady, are you certain that I will? I truly doubt that I can come even the minutest bit close to your beauty..."
As the professor tapped her calf, she looked down and instantly calmed herself. She nodded respectfully and said," No, sir. We cannot."

Regent smiles big. "Yes indeed. You have set a mighty high goal for your self Milady, for you radiance shines most brightly. For Lady Ciel to achieve such brilliance, she must work hard and be very diligent to your teachings." Regent then nods his approval of Ciel's efforts to make her teachers and Chancellor proud.
"Very well then, I have made preparations for the evening. I have sent word to the various shops and tailors to make ready their finest garments and wares, they don't know who is coming but I'm confident they know what to expect. He says with a nod.
"Tre'Maya if you would be so kind as to make known your expert opinion on which shop we shall grace first." Regent says to her with a slight bow. After all she is his grand vizier, time to put her vast knowledge to the task.

Tre'Maya and Vetli shared a smile as Ciel instantly calmed herself. It was going much better than she and the professor had beforehand thought. She was still a rough beauty, but she was allowing herself to become polished. And that was what was necessary. She nodded to Ciel. My dearest, I will admit that I am somewhat of an easy picture for the eye. You will one day assume the high praise that you are so quite deserving of. But only if you keep trying to learn and hold on to what we teach. If you are able to do that, then your inner and outer beauty shall shine to such an extent as to come dangerously close to our Fallen Majesty's.
At the Chancellor's praise, she inclined her head. Why thank you Chancellor. You do me a great favor by saying such things. And I believe that if Lady Ciel does as I have said, that she will have a great outcome.
She smiled and nodded to Vetli, and as he scurried off, she turned her smile to Regent and said, I believe that the first stop should be the dressmaker's shop. Every lady should have extravagant gowns for balls and meetings of great importance, however she should also have elegant gowns for everyday use so that she may exude her beauty at all times to all peoples. Am I correct, Chancellor?
It was then that Vetli came back with Tre'Maya's traveling cloak. He flitted up and settled it about her shoulders. She smiled and nodded to Ciel and then to Vetli as she waited for the Chancellor to agree or disagree.

Regent simply nods to Tre'Maya. "Yes, I am in total agreement with your claim, Milady. Elegance is the first step to disarming those about you... None are as prepared to do such a thing as a well trained vibrantly beautiful Lady." He looks to Ciel and extends his dark hand to her.
"Come my dear, this is your day. Lets go and make merry as we spare no expense to procure your new wardrobe." His eyes spark as he says these words. He whisks Ciel around him in a dancing twirl till she is before him facing the door as he still holds her hand softly and very formally.
"Grand Duchess, if you would be so kind." He extends his other hand for her to take in regal form. He snaps to grand stature as he looks very dashing. "Let us be underway. Professor Vetli, I'd be honored if you would be grand martial of our procession and lead the way for us onward to our first shop?"

Ciel nods very demurely and smiles as she is being whisked away to get her new things. She only wished her Queen could see her now. She was really on her way to becoming a real lady...

Tre'Maya nods back, still smiling. Then yes, let us go out and outfit our lovely Lady. Professor, if you would please. Taking the Chancellor's other hand, in proper fashion, she waited for Vetli to take his place in front.
Vetli nodded. Of course, Chancellor. Milady. Lady Ciel. Let us be on our way.
He went before them, throwing open the grand doors and making way for them to walk out and down to the Marketplace to the beginning of Ciel's new life as a Lady.

With no more adieu the small band proceeds into the courtyard and on to the gate. As the scorching heat from the sun subsides as it sinks below the horizon the creatures of the night begin to stir in the hot darkness.
As the band approaches the gate the portcullises opens before any order is given. From the darkness red eyes flash as Thane steps out from the darkened recesses of the defensive walls of the library.

"Good eve..." The dark hound's words rumble from beneath his dark hood as he speaks to the procession as they approach his position. "Master Regent, preparations have been made, and you all are to be received as requested." Thane says with a deep bow.

Regent smiles softly to the news Thane reports. "This is excellent news elite, thank you." Regent then steps through the gate into the square as the common demons scurry about in the darkness. "A lovely eve to be out is it not Tre'Maya? Regent says with a slight smirk on his dark lips. "Though I believe it is Master Thane's duty to be your official escort this eve, lest the lady should object..." Regent says with her hand held high for Thane to take at her command.

Tre'Maya's smile is bigger than normal, yet hidden by the darkness. She nods and replies to Regent. Yes, Chancellor. It is shaping up to be a gorgeous night.
Turning to Thane, she nods. How can I object? I would like nothing more for tonight. Master Elite, if you will... She waited for Thane to take her hand.
Vetli smiled and went on ahead.

With a smooth motion the large hound glides over to Tre'Maya and gently takes her hand from Regent. "My pleasure... " he rumbles softly. He then turns and enters the procession like a true soldier keeping the march without missing a beat. His red eyes gleam as he stares ahead in the low light, mostly form using his darksight... mostly...
