Illyon's gaze slides from Nyxereos to Valentine and the tiger, and finally to the crowd gathering around. A twitch runs down the entire length of his tail and he looks back to Nyxereos. He shifts his weight slightly, moving closer to the silvery Fallen, and with nary a twitch of his tail, lays a clawed hand on his shoulder.
"I understand your need for recompense in the matter, but you are beginning to draw a crowd," he says, indicating with his black eyes the demons gathering, and its effect on the tiger. "Master Nyxereos, please, walk with me inside the caravan's tent, and we shall discuss the matter where prying eyes cannot see. And perhaps when the crowd realizes that there's nothing to see, they will leave and the tiger can calm itself and do no more further damage to itself." A brow quirks at Nyxereos and something akin to a smirk crosses the Marquis's face for a brief moment. "As displeased as our Lord Regent is sure to be at the condition of his newest acquisition, his displeasure is sure to increase should the tiger begin to react out of fear, and attempt to attack the crowd to protect itself from a perceived threat. Such an action on its part will only succeed in causing itself further pain and injury."
He starts walking toward the caravan's tent, his hand still on Nyxereos's shoulder to gently urge him to follow. He looks over his shoulder, a smile playing about his full lips.
"Come, Master Elite... With my reputation and experience in these matters, my assistance will be an asset one like yourself cannot ignore."

The fallen makes no attempt to follow the Marquis and merely scowls at his reproach. As Illion tries to guide Nyx to the tent by the Marquis placing his clawed hand on Nyx's cold metallic shoulder makes the fallen freeze in his tracks.
"I will not be so easily dissuaded to carry out my duty Lord Marquis, my orders are clear. They shall be enforced to the letter."
The tall fallen shrugs off the Marquis hand in his stubborn defiance. His usual cold and careless demeanor is clearly turned to disdain toward the intrusion into his business.
"It is not my concern of the welfare of these demons, my mission is the acquisition of this beast. Now that the breach of the contract is evident with it's mutilation, I must enact that clause of the contract that demands retribution. Should it be to make an example of these who have broken the contract, then so shall it be. The more public the better to make the message clear.
I am merely an enforcer, if your grievance is with the law then I suggest you take your protest to the High Chancellor himself. It would be prudent for you not interfere further with my duty Lord Marquis. Should your name appear in my report as an instigator in this matter..."
Nyxereos says as he wags a silvery finger 'no' and makes a *tisk, tisk, tisk* sound at the devil clearly taunting him.

Illyon doesn't try to fight the Fallen escaping from his hold, but his tail does twitch in annoyance that doesn't match his expression.
"You will do as you like, Master Nyxereos, I do not agrue that," he says softly, almost suggestively. "But I should like to point out that, however justified in your anger and displeasure, your actions do reflect back on your master. If you alienate yourself from these caravans, you also alienate your master from them, and the next liason he sends will have much more difficulty in achieving their directives in a timely manner, and in the way that your master wishes it to be done." A hint of something not seductive, nor scheming, or even unkind, flickers across the Devil Incubus's face for a brief moment before the seductive and sensual mask returns. "If you detest your enslavement so much, bide your time, Master Nyxereos, and follow your master's orders to the best of your abilities, so that when you attempt your escape, you may have a better chance at it."

The fallen is through acting as a spoiled child when Illion stabs at the void where his heart used to be. When the Marquis mentions the unwanted servitude saddled upon Nyxereos by Regent, the silvery fallen glares ahead as he storms off making a wide wake in the gawking demons. Nyx is silently smoldering of his own distaste of this demeaning assignment. He simply can't understand those who seemingly can't follow simple an order as this. He makes way in his long stride to the tents. He says nothing but his obvious scowl speaks volumes. He slaps open the tent flap and enters. He stands as tall as his 6'6" frame will allow and folds his arms to his chest in his silent protest to listen to the proposal.
"Speak your mind Marquis, what is it you would suggest my lord Regent's servant do to maintain the balance of contract satisfaction and not fray my master's continued cooperative relations with these detestable slave traders."

Illyon walks after him, giving the Fallen enough room to maneuver in the crowd, and enough space so that the Marquis can adequately read his body language.
He stands in front of Nyxereos, posture relaxed, as though they were merely talking about the latest play, and not tactics and strategies on crowd manipulation.
"Being an enforcer, you can forgo some of the social niceties and pleasantries, and go to the root of the problem," Illyon replies. "Obviously, this gives you a wide berth in which to maneuver, yes? But take care to never raise your voice without appropriate provocation. A contract that is not fulfilled to the letter of the contract is, unfortunately, not considered appropriate provocation. These caravan leaders like to believe that they deserve some form of respect, and unless you want to find yourself up against an impregnable wall, it is just easier to give them that respect at the start, whether you mean it or not." Illyon turns to cast a look outside the tent, both at the caravans, and at the Ambassador, making sure she hasn't lost an arm from trying to sooth the tiger. "Speak to the leader of this caravan as you might any member of the court, for two reasons. One, it will get you what you want faster. And two, it will lower his guard, which is always a desirable outcome. When you have finished your business, and have assured the delivery of the goods, then you can claim your recompense." He lets his gaze fall on Nyxereos. "I do not doubt that you are well within your rights to demand such, for either yourself or your master, but take only what you deserve, no more and no less."
He offers his hand to the silvery Fallen to shake. "If you like, I can handle the negotiations for the lowered pricing of your quarry. I will not insult your intelligence by pretending that I am doing this out of the goodness of my heart." The last two words were said with disgust. "However, it is to our mutual benefit if we ally ourselves in this. I bring myself to the good graces of our Lord Regent, and you get what you want... and with this task completed, you will earn some trust from your master."

The look on Nyxereos' face softens a bit at the Devil Marquis' proposal. He shifts his weight from foot to foot as he stares intently into Illion's eyes.
"You may handle this matter as what you speak matters not to me. Perhaps your calm state would better facilitate that respect that I feel they do not deserve. Though if it may expedite this matter to a satisfactory conclusion then so be it. Be fore warned Marquis, my master is not one to cross, make your negations with great care. See to it that what is owed will be compensated to satisfy this contractual agreement with the trade guild, and all shall be spared my master's wrath."
His silvery white hair falls before his eyes as he looks down to Illion. Nyxereos flicks it irritatedly to the side with his long silvery fingers and tucks it behind his ear. His wings flex as he glares to the tent door. Someone is approaching.

The demon returns with the large cooler on a cart. He taps at the tent door and calls out... "Masters? I have the cart and the cooler as requested Marquis..."

Illyon bows slightly, his tail curling around him like a satisfied cat, and smirks at the Fallen.
"I have been dealing with these creatures since I was just a child, Master Elite, and no matter how I may appear in your eyes, that was a very long time ago."
The Marquis turns to the demon, and his tail begins to whip behind him.
"I see you have followed my instructions adequately," he says, his voice almost blank. "Now, see to it that the cooler is installed and activated so that the ice tiger will be able to be in his proper element, not dying in this heat. And remain here, we have business to discuss, you and I, and I do not care to wait any longer than you have already forced me to."

The onlookers that had gathered to watch the impending disemboweling has moved on. As the Demons scurry to the cage wagon with the cooling unit.
The tiger looks frighted once again as it curls it's lips to growl. It looks to Valentine and then the demons with confusion and it takes to it's feet once again to prowl the bars. Pacing back and forth inside its prison it roars and spits with all it can muster.

Valentine looks at the pacing tiger and trills again, softly.
"Hush now, it's cool in there. It will feel better." She says coaxingly, lacing power through her words. She glances at the demons with the cooling unit and then over at the tent.

Illyon continues to stare down at the demon, showing only annoyance in his expression and body language.
"I will be handling the negotiations for Master Nyxereos," he informs the demon, his tone allowing for no protests or disagreement. "As I understand the terms of the contract, you agreed to have the beast brought hear unharmed. You failed in that task, and be grateful that the beast will not be permanently damaged due to your lack of preparation." The Incubus Marquis takes a small step forward, yet somehow still managing to remain more like an annoyed merchant than an angry noble. "The damage the beast has made him drop in value, wouldn't you agree? Let's say... a drop of forty percent in the original price."

The demon bows to the Marquis. "As you wish my lord." he says to his taking over the negotiations.
His complacent obedience turns to scorn at the reproach to loss of wages for capturing the tiger. "But Marquis, It's capture cost us a fortune and many lives were lost in its retrieval. I too have suffered greatly for this..." He says as he holds up his hand missing fingers from frost bite and deep claw marks from the tiger. "Surely you can see that we risked all for its acquisition?" he says looking dismayed, "40% would ruin us. We too must pay back our debts, I beg of you lord, even a loss of 10% would barely be enough to cover our staggering costs."

Illyon stares down at the demon as his tail begins to tick back and forth, patiently.
"You should have been more prepared," he replies coldly. "I trust the dangers of the assignment were made known to you before you set out, if I'm not mistaken. You losses are the result of your own foolishness, and are not accountable by your employer." Illyon pauses, regarding the demon with thoughtful, black eyes. "However, you do raise a valid point. Thirty percent reduction in value."

With a bent look on his face Nyx goes to inspect the cooler and the state of the tiger. He steps up to the bars as he scowls in his disapproval of the whole situation. He stands silently as he watches Valentine calming the beast. His eyes hollow from his anger as the black orbs glare at her in his silent protest.
He says nothing as he watches her trill at the tiger as it paces back and forth in its confusion and fear.

The succubus steps back from the cage to regard Nyxereos. She meets his glare with a look from half lidded, warm colored eyes. Valentine takes her time moving up to him until she's almost too close, a subtle sway in her hips.
"Master Nyxereos, why do you frown so? I am only trying to... help." She moistens her lips as she looks at him, her eyebrows raising in innocent query.

The Tiger stands before the cooler and pants. It's eyes close as the cooling air stills it's rage and softens the fears within.
The Demon caravaner looks to Illion with despair in his eyes. "Master don't understand. How were we suppose prepare to capture something he had not encountered before? Our orders were to procure the beastie, yet we knew nothing of the savagery of this creature nor its strength. We were sent on a errand destined for failure and then for our obedience on delivery, our lord sends his dark knight to slay us and pay nothing for our services or misfortune. Master please hear our plea, we know you are fair and wise, please make them see our plight, Master please... 15% would be more fitting to ease for our suffering... Even that is not so much to bid for our service to the Crown and losses in sacrifice to the Chancellor's critter." He says looking pitiful holding up his wounded hands and staring up at the Marquis with a beaten down look in his face.

Black orbs fall on Valentine as they peer from under the silver brows of the miffed fallen. His form rigid as the Ambassador slides up to him in her sultry fashion.
"My distaste is not for you milady. This matter is far from the concerns of the Leccubi court madame Le' Noir, none the less your efforts are appreciated and your efforts of assistance will be presented favorably to the Lord Regent in my report. This debacle should have ended with a token of obedient sacrifice to the Grand Chancellor. The head of the Caravan Task master would make a fine start for the penance of insolence displayed to my master's bidding. Wouldn't you agree Ambassador? "

Valentine looks at Nyxereos in startlement and then laughs, a touchable sound that does not make one think of jests. But her eyes sparkle with golden amusement as she shakes her head no.
"No, not at all. He will quite likely loose his position for this debacle and without his pay to cover the bills and excesses that most powerful demons enjoy how long until he becomes the merchandise himself?" She chuckles again shaking her head.
"While your single-mindedness is commendable, you could certainly learn to be more creative, Master Elite." The succubus finally stops laughing but can't help the edges of the smile on her lips.

The tiger lays before the cooler and presses its muzzle into the fan mesh. The cold air makes frost appear on its icy nose as it relaxes to the frosty breeze. The hands cover the wagon as the tiger is distracted and quickly they seal it to keep the cool air in the confines of the cage.

Nyxereos levels his gaze squarely at Valentine with a peak of irritation at her disagreeing with his comments. "I was not dispatched here to meet out retribution, merely collect the High Chancellor's prize and return it to the palace. A simple enough task, though that has become severely over complicated due to politics and double talk. I find that most... unsavory. Lest I stay my hand and demonstrate mercy... Will it undermine my master's authority? Or exact the strict punishment measured by the contract and look the villain to his subjects as the intolerant tyrant? Of either consequence, I care not. Yet, the burden of this debacle falls upon my shoulders, and that is a weight I am disinclined to support. I'd sooner purge them all as far as I am concerned and be done with it. Put an end this ridiculous dance of patronizing words."
