Thane turns to Pacsha. "We won't be gone long... it would be wise for you to be here upon our return." Then the hound turns toward the dunes.
"Let's..." The hound growls as he bounds off into the night.
Thane plows through he sands and makes for the crest of sand stone and rock. He climbs up to take in the view and to make his barring before he continues. He awaits Lysandor as he surveys the next route of cover and ease of passage to the east.

Lysandor follows the burly Rachet and looks out at the desert. He watches the land for any signs of movement, letting his eyes adjust to the night away from the fire.
"I do not trust this," he whispers, barely audible for even Thane's ears. "I cannot shake the feeling that it is somehow connected to this mission. Is it possible that the High Chancellor somehow set this up?"

Thane lowers his nose to the sands. The shifting ground displaces the scents of others though the smell on the air is still distinct and easy to follow.
"Knowing the Chancellor, I am coming to believe that everything he does is has far too calculated to be more than chance nor mere coincidence. I would bet your feelings are true to the fact we were sent with ulterior motives to our primary mission."
At that Thane reaches the peak of the dunes following his nose, he spies a shallow ravine at the base that snakes eastward in the stone. He drops to all fours and trots down to it and takes cover in it's shadowed recesses.

Lysandor and Thane met with the treacherous Elite insurgents who had attacked the nobles in the By the Pale Moonlight thread. During the ensuing battle, Pascha and the Glass Orb were taken by the insurgents. The importance of both their mission and the retrieval of the Glass Orb forced the two to split up - Lysandor tracking down the insurgents and Thane going after the Golden Hare.
Though Thane only had one day to track down the Golden Hare, he succeeding in finding it. Only to discover that the Golden Hare was, in fact, a Dragon under a powerful geas. The ensuing battle was fierce and lengthy, but the Gabriel Rachet Elite prevailed in his task.
Unfortunately, this put him desperately behind schedule, and he was unable to join Lysandor in his insurgent hunt. Thane returned to the city with only minutes to spare, and ran all out to get the Dragon-geas Hare to the Regent in time. He was successful - but barely - and arrived to bad news.
While he was away, the insurgency that was rampant through the Empire had struck home. Thane's father was assassinated, and he was sent along with Duchess Tre'Maya De'Velt and her assistant Velti to bring the Rachets to heel, and deal with the insurgent problem.
Of Lysandor, there has been no word. He is missing in action, and presumed dead...
