Thane has made his way back to the upper corridors of the palace. His senses are on fire for anything remotely out of its norm. As he patrols room by room he stumbles across some ripped parchment and dried blood ink spilled onto a balcony. Thane peers over the edge and finds it overlooking the grizzly scene of the slain elite. Thane looks onto the parchment to find symbols of a language he has never before seen. "What is this." The dark hound ponders. "It may be nothing..." he ponders more, "It may be everything..." He sniffs at the rag paper, "Faint... blood ink, iron... and... myrrh?" Thane looks at it curiously and sneers, "It is not of hell, but damning nonetheless!" Thane snarls as he clutches the paper and tears off to seek out Zarek.
Thane is swiftly approaching the Fallen Angel lord just as he and Lye split up to report to opposite sides of the Palace. Thane calls out frantically, "M'Lord... I have discovered something I believe you should see!" as Thane scrambles to a stop. The burley hound bows and presents the parchment to his lord. "I was patrolling when I found this on the upper floors." Thane gruffs out of breath, "It was on a balcony, high overlooking the scene of the elite slain." Thane looks up to Zarek, "I cannot decipher the script... but the scent..." Thane looks to the floor reverently, "... Is of vile holy myrrh..." Thane's lips curl in disgust, "... clearly not of our world."

Zarek takes the note and reads it. His hands start shaking and he has to look away. "Great, I'm going to be crying myself to sleep tonight. It's the angelic language. I can't speak it, and it's blasphemous for me to even look at it. I feel sick." he drops it too the ground and pulls out his sword. Black smoke curls off the blade, hiding the black in the black acrid smoke. Holding it over the note and letting the acid drip from it, he burns the message on the floor. "It is as I feared."

Lye had just begun to leave, but Thane's call prompted her to halt and listen. She trots back over to them, muttering to herself. "'As I feared?' I hate those words. I have heard or said them a million times and it means we're in for something bad. But...I must know..."
She reaches them and asks Zarek, "What is as you feared, General?"

"It is an angel. The note refers to when I was still... an angel. I was the leader of a team of specialist angels... I think... I don't remember much of it anymore. This angel... knows about my past, and it said he's here for.... something. I don't know, alot of it didn't make sense. I suppose if I could remember my past, it would make more sense. No good will come of this. We need to get moving."

Thane's hackles raise at the mention of 'Specialist' Angels invading his territory. "My patrol has been concluded M'Lord, I shall exicute my previous orders and guard our high Queen, unless..." Thane bows to Zarek, '... you have need of me else where M'Lord?"

"Ah. Well. At least we know for sure what to look for now." And she salutes out of courtesy and trots off again to guard the palace.

Khan quirks an amused eyebrow at the Queen as they walk away. "A joke, you say?" He says pleasantly, "Interesting. Perhaps if you write a real side-splitter you can take care of our little angel problem by causing his kidneys to rip themselves out. Come, tell me of this whilst our dear friends prepare for this...conflict of interests. Or, as best they can, anyway."

"Thane, I want you to run between the two walls. If you hear one of us yell for help, go get the other. Don't engage any foes until then." Zarek then turns and goes for the other side of the palace.

Thane salutes and stands as tall as his Rachet frame will allow. "As you wish, my master" Thane rumbles. As Zarek moves away, Thane drops to all fours and bolts after Lye. As He catches up with her he calls out to her. "Lady Lye... May I speak with you for a moment?"

She turns and gives a slight nod to Thane. "Of course. What is it?"

Thane returns her nod and speaks low and clear. "I have never before been concerned for our Lord Zarek..." Thane says looking uncomfortable, "Simply because I have never before witnessed his fear." Thane's eyes look back to where Zarek had acid washed the parchment. "He was scared just then... and I can smell it." Thane says looking back to Lye with concern in his eyes.

"Yeah...Zarek is no scared cat, normally...but he's a Fallen so this is to be expected in this situation. We definitely have to be careful now. We cannot let this angel hit Zarek in some Fallen weak point. That may be why he's scared; if reading the language can make him sick, well...I don't know how bad it could get. Stay on your toes and keep your nose keen." Lye gives his head a quick rub and continues on her way.

Thane nods to Lye's assessment. "Agreed..." the grizzly hound barks out. Thane then bounds off to the throne room. He cautiously enters and looks about for Ereshkigal and Kahn. "My Mistress..." Thane calls out... "I bear urgent news..." he says and he bows to one knee before his queen.

After a couple hours the guards begin to relax, Lysandor and Thane slow their worried patrols between Zarek and Lye and perhaps even those two begin to relax a bit....

"What are you doing here?" A loud voice says from the shadows, behind Lye. "Are you...? You are! Israfel!! Is this where you've been hiding Israfel, or are you down here on business too?" The voice has an odd tone to it; it seems to make the screams of the tortured stand out, even to those who have never noticed them before. What appears to be an elite shows little of himeself, nothing but the tip of his sword, and two giant glistening white wings.

Lye whirls around, gripping Silverspine, wondering who was speaking and to whom. Perhaps, she thought, it had something to do with this angel problem... And when the wings register in her vision, she draws Silverspine's blade and runs forward to attack.

Rashiel backs up, the point of his sword coming out from the shadows. "Either you have spent too much time down here or you are not Israfel. Either way, you are not my quarry," He says calmly. Inches from her face, the sword flares to life, a searing hot flame, even to the denizens of Hell engulfes the sword, giving a momentary glimpse at his person before all goes white from the sudden flare in her eyes. Once her vision clears, the angel is gone.

Lye shakes her head, feeling a little woozy, as if the whole experience flashed by too fast to comprehend. "Crap...what was that about...maybe I should've tried some acting. Oh well, better alert the others now." First she closes her eyes and mentally sends Ghostie the entire transcript of her memory starting when she first heard the angel's voice. Hoping that her Queen recieves the message, and knowing that she can waste no time, Lye then calls out for Zarek and Thane. "Zarek! Thane! Guards of Hell! I have spotted him! I spotted the angel!" There's the possibility, she knows, that this will scare off the angel, but it might prevent him from committing another murder first. ' Although,' she thinks, 'with his speed and ability, we can only hope.'
