Lysandor accepts the Queen's arm, all the while keeping his gaze moving over the crowd. It was true, Queen Ereshkigal could indeed defend herself against mortals. Even most demonlings were able to defeat the weak creatures. He wasn't about to take chances.
"It might be true, Your Majesty," Lysandor admits, "but it would better ease the minds of others if you would at least bring with you ONE bodyguard." He lowers his head apologetically, silently asking forgiveness for his forwardness. But he goes on; duty would expect nothing less. "Lady Lye, as I understand, would enjoy your outings as well." He stops, then changes topics. He looks down at his Queen with a very faint smile - so faint, it's hard to even tell it's there. "But I forget both my place and manners, Your Majesty. You are here to have fun, not listen to one so below you lecture you."

The Queen sighs and rolls her eyes.
"Lye and I do have fun together.. but she doesn't approve of all my habits nor do we always enjoy eachothers company. After a couple hundred years of constant companionship youcan get a little crabby." She huffs looking a little bit like a pouty child.
"Below me, above me.. who cares!" She looks toward the dance floor hungrily eyeing the dancers as if they were choice morsels.

Lysandor doesn't comment on the Imperial Queen of Hell's remarks about Lye. For one, he doesn't think it's his place. Two, he wouldn't know anything about having a constant companion . . .
He catches his Queen's gaze, and leans closer so only she can hear.
"If you would like to dance, Majesty, you may," he mutters. "I have no objections."
Lysandor glances around, seeing some mortals taller than himself. Thought the club is crowded, and he isn't the tallest, he feels confident that he could keep an eye on the Queen. Still . . .
"But if I may, Your Majesty," he says, "do TRY and keep me in your view . . . I doubt my life expectancy would be long if any harm were to come to you on my watch."

"What? oh no!" She shakes her head.
"Humans are very poor dancers compared to demons. But they have a certain amount of spirit- which I enjoy breaking." She giggles and the few people close by move quickly away from the hair-raising sound. She stops laughing and scans the crowd again apparently looking for just the right mortals.
"Besides- They'll be here soon and I'm very picky about my pets."

Lysandor nods, accepting the Queen's explaination. He inwardly gives a sigh of relief. He REALLY didn't want to have to try and keep the Queen in sight in such a crowd . . . The Fallen cocks his head at the "pet" comment.
"Pets, Majesty? Humans? Wouldn't a dog or cat be more obediant and loyal . . .?"
He looks to the dancing humans in something akin to confusion. Unless his Queen wasn't looking for obediance or loyalty . . . She did mention enjoying breaking their spirit. Lysandor keeps watching . . . this might be enjoyable.

The Queen nods and her dress rustles a bit the first such action it's taken here in the mortal realm. If Lysandor watches closely he might see the tenuous black thread that begins to twine easliy around one especially energetic female dancing at the edge of the throng.
The dancer stumbles and looks around in confusion before locking eyes with the queen and walking hesitantly toward her.

Lysandor watches all this with polite intrest. When the human female starts her trip towards the Queen, though, his attention doubles. He looks her up and down, making sure she had nothing that could even cause the slightest bit of harm to his Queen. As he does so, he looks around the club, checking to see if any of his comrades have arrived, or if there are any enemies that would need taking care of. Lysandor takes his job seriously, perhaps too seriously . . .

Her Wicked Highness notices Lysandors sudden attention and is clearly amused by it.
"You'll get along well with the General I'm sure- so serious. Still there's nothing to worry about- the others aren't in the area yet and this is a relatively safe place for our kind." She pats his arm consolingly as the human comes to sit beside her staring up in blind adoration.

Lysandor doesn't immediately reply, prefering to finish his visual rounds of the club first. He looks down at the Queen, a barely perceptible, half-smile on his face.
"It would make sense, Your Majesty," he mutters so the human female can't hear. "The General and I are both Fallen. And safe though we may be . . ." He pauses, looking around again. "It's a probability that I would be flayed alive if I allowed you to receive the slightest injury, whether you were in danger in the first place or not."
He glances at the human female, making sure she was enamoured with the Queen, and less likely to cause Her Imperial Highness injury, before writing her off as a smaller threat.
"A pretty thing, Majesty," he says, still in a mutter that only the Queen, or a Hell denizen nearby, could hear. "You have fine tastes."
All this was said as though he were admiring the decor of her home or a new addition to a managrie of collectable, porcelain dolls.

Thane hesitates to enter at first for the loud music banging at his eardrums. As the door man beckons them enter, Thane turns his head to view the countless humans waiting to enter the party as he swiftly enters. Upon smelling his empress queen Thane jerks away from Zarek and hits the end of the chain with a mighty lurch yanking it free of Zareks grasp. Thane then bounds over to the queen and Lysandor barking happily that she is safe. Thane trots up to Ghostie his large eyes looking up slightly even though Thane is a huge dog the tables are still higher than he. Thane bows as a trained horse to his queen and speaks, probably to loudly for his peasant form, "My Mistress Queen... By Hells searing flames... we are pleased to find you unscathed."

Lysandor was almost surprised at Thane's arrival - almost being the key word. At the "we," Lysandor glances around, searching for the others. Though Thane has arrived, bringing with him Lady Lye and General Zarek, his vigilance is not reduced, but rather redoubled.

Thanes tail is wagging ecstatically whacking many by standers rather hard enough to make them step back to avoid the flogging. Thane then takes a position next to Ghostie's chair slightly before it and to the right side and sits in a guard dogs pose. His back straight and his head perched high and alert looking very soldierly for a canine. His ears peaked high and his eyes scanning the crowd for any unauthorized approach to the queen's table.

Lye spots Ghostie and then nonchalantly makes her way through the crowd behind Thane, checking to make sure her sunglasses were in place. Since Lysandor is closer, she first speaks to him when she arrives. "Good job, Lysandor. You're a valuable asset to our army." Lye then turns to the Queen trying her best to give a slight smile. "Forgive us for seeking you out, Ghostie-sama, but we've got to keep an eye on you even if it means being impudent."

Lysandor inclines his head in acknowledgment to Lye's compliment, but says nothing. He continues his vigilance, keeping a part of his attention on the conversation between the Queen and Lye.

Zarek stumbles slightly at the sudden pull on the chain and let's Thane go. Being taller than the crowd he's able to see where the big dog pushes his way through the crowd and stops, Lye in tow. "Those two will handle it." Zarek thinks to him self staying near the door. "Let's hope nobody screws this up this time."

Her Majesty wiggles her fingers at Lye in amusement.
"I like you impudent- all of you. It keeps my life interesting.. and in turn I do my best to keep you all on your toes." She stops for a moment- staring into space. Lye can feel a tremor shake the Queen to her toes- and an echo of a cut off scream as if something had once exsisted and was now gone.
The Queen tumbles out of her chair and leans on Thane's doggie neck.
"We need to go home now..." Her dress scribes a glowing circle on the floor and she beckons to the whole group urgently.
"Quickly!"
(Ooc: This thread takes place just before the thread "saying goodbye".)

Lysandor's attention snaps back to the Queen, a slight half-frown crossing his andorgynous features.
"What is it?" he asks, keeping his voice low. Almost instinctively, he moves in closer to the Queen as though to protect her.

Thane flinches at the sudden gripping of his neck and fur. He turns his head to look see what is the matter to see his Queen staggering as if she had been struck. Thane instantly tries to steady her from falling as she reports of the need to return to Hell ASAP. Somewhat confused and startled at her behavior Thane asks, "What is the matter my Mistress?"

"Ask questions later! We should go, now!" Lye commands, then takes a step and scoops up Ghostie in one motion. She strolls out holding the Queen, and asks as she continues to walk towards the portal to Hell, "Can you walk properly, Ghostie?"
