"Precisely," Lysandor says. "The method of retreat you chose was disorganized, showing nothing of the potential your commanders saw when they sent you to me. Two of you sustained injuries, minor, but in the field of battle, even a minor injury can decrease your chances of survival, especially when under fire. You will need to learn to act as a unit, not only with each other, but with any group of Elite or Hell's soldiers." He looks to the female Fallen. "When you were told to scatter, was it as individuals desperately trying to escape to safety so that you may be lucky enough to survive, or was it as a soldier of Hell, falling back to a safe location to regroup and determine the best course of action in order to defeat your enemies?"

All Ciel could do was nod in agreement. She really knew little to nothing of fighting as a well-oiled machine. All she knew was protect and conquer. She did not wish to interrupt Lysandor, so she watched and waited for the reparté to continue.

The cadets all look at Lysandor with 'stupid' written on their foreheads. They hem and haw but none really know what to say. Finally Dreatrrah speaks up. "Honestly just to save our butts... as we were trained to do... falling back is rarely acceptable except when ordered to do so." she says softly feeling sheepish.
The elf sniffs, "Yeah, that was nothing... you guys are just too slow and clumsy... I could dance around these falling rocks all day. Nothing but a walk in the park." he says with a smirk and a nod to his head. "It'll take more than some falling stones to take me out."

"I thought as much," Lysandor says in reply to Dreatrrah. The Dark Elf speaks up again, and recieves a stern look from Lysandor. He walks up to the Dark Elf, stopping just in front of him. "You would do well to remember your lesson, cadet. While you are quicker and more agile than your comrades, you are no match for them in strength or endurance. Do not be so quick to critisize your comrades when you have not done any better than they."
He steps back from the Dark Elf and looks to the cadets, sizing up the task of training them. "Falling back is an acceptable strategy when faced with an opponent who has the greater numbers or skill, or in this case, is attacking with projectile weapons from a distance. But you will need to do it as a unit and learn to rely on one another." He looks at the Dark Elf again, and Nyxereos. "And learn to use your skills to help your comrades in turn."

Regnet as Kane nods a bit and looks to the fallen commander with his one yellow eye. "So how do yee recommend we organize fer such an attack and prepare fer such an instance as a group an' no just a bunch 'o' 'eadless bats tryn' te get the f* outa hell when the deadly rain of battle falls?"

Lysandor looks over the cadets as he thinks on Kane's question.
"Awareness of your surroundings will decrease the chances of a surprise attack, but should you find yourselves under surprise fire, space out, move unpredictably, but move out of range. As demons, and Dark Elves, you have certain abilities that can confuse, trick, or distract your enemies. Keep your head and use whatever you have on hand. Illusions, the ability to move instantaneously, the ability to move through stone like air, even to fly, all can make your escape easier while your enemies are confounded as to what to make of you." He pauses for a moment, letting the cadets make sense of what he said. "If you find that a comrade is falling behind, or is in danger, help them. They are all the hope you have to make it out alive. It does not matter if you can dodge falling stones, or pass through rock with ease, or even if you can outrun the rocks, if you lose comrades to the enemy, you chances of survival have just gone down." Lysandor looks at them, his expression very serious. "The next attack may not be simple falling rocks."

the cadets show signs of understanding and nod slightly to themselves. They reform into formation behind Nyxereos and stand at attention... "Yesss Sir!" they all proclaim enthusiastically.

Nyxereos nods to Lysandor. "Douse your flames horse man lest I must again demonstrate your incompetance to the others..." as the arena again goes dark. "Your orders Master Lysandor?" Nyxereos says in the darkness.

Lysandor considers Nyxereos's question, a faint, barely-there smirk crossing his face. He walks back over to Ciel and speaks low enough so that only she can hear.
"I will require your assistance once more," he says softly. "I think you will enjoy this." The Fallen Elite turns back to the cadets, looking them over. He picks out the two that have shown the most potential and intelligence. He speaks loud enough for the cadets to hear. "You will assemble into two teams, one led by Nyxereos, the other by Kane. Your objective is to capture the Lady Ciel from somewhere in this Coliseum, and return her to your team's base. The team to achieve this objective will be the winner. This exercise is to teach you the importance of teamwork and working as a unit."
With that, Lysandor offers his arm to Ciel for her to take. He looks back at the cadets and with a somewhat sadistic smirk, calls over his shoulder, "Pick your teams, then count to fifty."

Ciel waits for him to speak and smiles as he finishes. She nods and takes his arm. As they walk away, Ciel turns a wicked smile to Lysandor.
"How dirtily can I play Master Elite?"

Nyxereos looks to Kane with 'no' written across his face. "I have been appointed squad leader, and with rank comes privilege... cadet. I shall chose first"
He then calls out to the remaining soldiers while looking into Kane's eye. "Winged, cat boy... I choose you." Nyxereos says with a bold voice.

Ciel's smile back up at Lysandor was just as wicked. "Thank you Master Elite. I believe you were correct. I am going to love this exercise..."
She walked with him a little farther and sighed carefully, speaking again but lower so that no one else would hear but him. "Master Lysandor...I must ask. Will you be affected by my playing? I would not want to make you falter in front of your cadets at all..."

Lysandor considers her question, frowning to himself in thought. "I should not be over bothered by your . . . playing, my lady. I have benefited from the training and discipline from not only the Elite, but my original training, before my Fall. I have had many centuries in between to gain greater control of myself." His expression is vaguely wry as he looks at her from the corner of his eye. "It is not to say that your charms go unnoticed, Lady Ciel."
He changes his course, moving further into the growing darkness. Though he doesn't have night-sight, he had memorized the Coliseum and it's preparations beforehand. Hidden in the darkness is a small, skeletal tower, where a rope ladder hangs some four feet above the ground. Lysandor stops at the rope ladder and grabs it, holding it steady.
"If you would go first, Lady Ciel, I will ensure that we are not attacked from behind by over-zealous cadets," he says. "I will follow when you have reached the top."

Nyxereos stands his ground to Kane as Lysandor and Ciel make ready for the game. He snarles as he calls for his next choice. "Fallen you are with me... that leaves the insubordinates with the elf as their last. We will crush your sorry team into the dust." he says as he turns to his team in the darkness. "Fear not your enemy for they are weak. Fear me for what I will do to you should you flail in your task. I will not accept defeat."

She looked almost cowed for a second and looked down at her feet. "I know that you can handle it as an Elite, but as yourself...? I have not ...nevermind, then. If you say that you can handle it, Master Elite, then you can handle it." She looked up with a simple smile on her face that betrayed nothing of her feelings. She turned at his admission that her charms were nigh irresistible. She smiled truly then and turned to him, suddenly not caring if anyone saw and kissed him softly on the lips again. "I thank you for your kindness Master Lysandor. If I am ever able, I will repay you for your kind words. Shall we go now? I quite believe I am ready to nail your cadets to the wall..."
They were at the rope ladder and she put herself on the bottom and looked up, then down at him smiling. "Enjoy the view on the way up." And she climbed as high as she could go to wait for him.

Regent shakes his head at Nyx with dissatisfaction. Even with his emotions dulled he continues to be an arrogant fool. Then he looks to his team and gives a grin. "All reight yee bunch of trainees. Are yee ready to kick some cocky fallen arse or what? First what I need you to understand is this, I love winnin' and I know yee do as well. so 'ere's what I propose... lets have a wea spot 'o' fun and make these flaky upstarts look like lost children 'eh?" He then looks at them as he can see the entire arena as if it were day. He then huddles with his soldiers and begins to work out a strategy to collect Ciel with the greatest of ease.

Lysandor is no less stunned with her second kiss than he was her first, and he looks like he's been hit over the head. A faint blush colors his cheeks as he opens his mouth to speak, then shuts it with a nearly audible snap. He holds the ladder steady for Ciel, and when she mentions enjoying the view, he looks up in total confusion for her to clarify.
"Wha-?" The Fallen Elite looks down at the ground beneath his feet, his face now a bright scarlett. He concentrates on the dirt and tiny rocks, suddenly fascinated by the ground as he had never been before. As soon as he feels that she's topped the ladder, he makes his way up, looking pointedly straight ahead, down, anywhere but up.
