The coach door opens for Lady Ciel. A tall Pe'Ri exits dressed in a modest dark gray silk suit and holds the door for her. He bows as his gray hair ruffles in the warm breeze of the evening and silted blue gray eyes never leave the ground.
"My lady, it is an honor to be your escort for this mission." the Pe'Ri's low, honey tone voice purs softly to Ciel still slightly bowed holding the door to the carriage in his gloved hand.

If Ciel had been paying attention before, she wouldn't have jumped now. She was startled at him before she even saw him and she turned, one hand on her bodice front and the other at her throat.
"There... Th--thank you." She took a second to look him up and down and sighed. "And you are, sir?"

With a deeper bit of a bow, the Pe'Ri complies to the lady's question of his name. "My lady, you may address me... Gray Shadow."
He says softly returning to his former position slightly bowed and holding the door open to the carriage.
"The High Chancellor, Lord Regent, has charged me with your safe keeping on this most noble mission of alliance to the Nightmare City. If you require anything, please ask it. Your humble servant shall make every attempt with in my ability to satisfy your needs and comforts."

"Well, Gray Shadow, I am honored to meet you. However, I must ask...am I to be traveling alone? I am awaiting the Lady..." Her eyes almost swam with tears.
"Is there...is there any way that you could sit in here with me until she comes out to speak to me? I am...I am not myself lately and in the event that you are to be my... escort, I must tell you that I have been on edge as of late..." She turned back and turned from him a little.
"Just sit with me. Please?" If he could see her face, he could see her complete terror and her rushing thoughts.

Gray stand fully now as his eyes drift up to Ciel. "My orders are to protect you and keep you save and sound. I have no manifesto of any other traveling companions save the Ambassador Le'Noir... To whom the Chancellor is speaking at this very moment... As you wish."
He extends a hand to Ciel to help her aboard the grand Carriage. A set of metal steps unfold from the side to make easy entry for the Lady.

She softly took his hand and stepped up into the cab of the coach. She didn't spare a look at him, but kept her eyes on her shoes. She fidgeted with her feet and waited for him to do as he says he will.
She needs someone next to her. She knows who she wants, but he's off doing as commanded. She misses him and she feels lost without him...

As Ciel enters the carriage. The interior looks more like a small apartment than a transport. The inside is far greater than could possibly be from the size of the wagon. The sofa is soft and lavish Purple with velvet and fine wood trim. The dining table is quaint setting for 4, though also it too is rich and beautify carved of the finest iron wood.
A beautiful bedroom adjoins the main room at the rear and from the anterior a small water fall cascades down the chiseled rock face into a lavish bathing pool.
The queen sized bed is covered in silks and pillows and it too is purple and lavishly adorned with wooden accents. A tall wardrobe stands opposite the food hutch just before the bedroom archway and the room smells of lightly lavender, vanilla and almonds.

The elite follows Ciel into the carriage. He latches the door softly and in a silent flash he is adjusting the sofa pillows for Ciel to be seated. As She takes her seat. He moves to her side and he smiles.
"Are you are comfortable My Lady? He takes a seat next to Ciel on the sofa as he retains his polite manor, stately posture and a soft smile.
"Would you care for a refreshment while you await the Ambassador?" He says with a slight gesture to the hutch.

She tries not to fidget as she answers him. "I am as physically comfortable as I can get, thank you Shadow."
She doesn't even bother to see all of the fine things in the carriage as she answers. "Some bloodwine please. I...I must admit to being unnerved my this whole operation."

With hardly a sound the Pe'Ri is on his feet and already at the hutch. With a quick flick, the doors are open and bottle already in hand. "It is perfectly normal to fell overwhelmed staring at the face of such a mission of this magnitude my Lady. Though often one will find that it is merely a first impression and the true details are far less daunting when it is examined from the proper perspective... Do you prefer a goblet or a flute for your wine?" He says with a comforting smooth tone.

She nodded, ever so softly and made a motion with her hand.
"Goblet. Please."
She wanted to keep him quiet. But he was nice and nice to look at as well. She looked past him out of the window and thought about Lysandor. Now that they were busier, she didn't get to see him as often as she'd liked...
She kept an eye out for Valentine to return, hoping that she really was ready for this job.

K'Kerom nods and begins to pour the wine. the savory aroma wafts as he pours into the goblet. The running wine slurring the basin with a fine rich color of red. He steps to Ciel offering her the goblet.
"Leageen, '86 a fine vintage." He says with a slight bow.

She watches him carefully, trying not to eye him as much as would be proper. She is a lady after all.
She takes the goblet and sniffs at the wine. "Thank you, Shadow." She said it as softly as she could muster. This would be a difficult assignment and she needed her thoughts. She took a precautionary sip and decided she could live with the burn and the slight sickening feeling that came with the wine.
She flicked her eyes at Shadow and spoke again. "Shadow, I have to ask. Is duty everything? And how does one know when duty should be followed?" She was confused and she had an idea that if she asked Valentine, she rather figured she knew the answer already...

Gray replaces the cork in the bottle and closes up the food cabinet. His silver blue eyes narrow as his slits become needle thin to the question. He poses a thin smile as for the first time visible movement of his wings draw them in as tight as they can while he steps back toward the sofa.
"For an elite duty is our primary purpose. Can it be said that we merely exist to serve? I know for a fact that is not so. Our commitment is to follow the guidelines that duty dictates for us though we simply can't blindly follow the rules. Discipline and honor weigh just as highly as duty, and is some cases trumps rule over what duty demands of us. Because the options laid before us are not always cut and dried. They too require great care and fore thought so when the time comes we are prepared to do what is necessary to fulfill our duty, satisfy our honor and complete our mission."

She listened to his explanation and nodded. "Of course. That I can most definitely understand." She paused a bit, unsure if she should continue. He was an elite after all, and the only Elite she could talk to and not feel self conscious was Lysandor, really...
She took another sip of her wine and sighed again. She could not help but be restless. She took another look out of the window and couldn't help but comment.
"Shadow, is the Lady Ambassador going to be gone long? I am more than nervous about this assignment and I fear that if I wait too long before we get going that I will be nothing but nerves..."

Gray slightly turns to peer out the window. He watches as the snow falls and dissipates into the stone of the study and the courtyard. He straightens as he steps to the door to hold it open for Valentine and Regent as they make their way to the carriage.
"Snow?!? The High Chancellor surely has a flair for the dramatic hasn't he." Gray says softly making more of a statement rather than a question about the Regent's dynamic personality.
"It appears as though your wish is granted Lady Ciel, they are coming."

She looked out of the window and sighed. "And here begins our adventure, I suppose."

"I do not know, my dear lady, that I would call this an adventure." Valentine says as she sweeps into the carriage nodding politely at K'Kerom. Her eyes flick from him to Ciel but her face betrays nothing as she moves to take a seat.
"Rather call it work, it may make it less worrisome. After all you know your work well but an adventure is generally a venture into the unknown. " She settles next to Ciel, back straight and gives her a small smile.

Regent pokes in his head as steam rolls off his icy form in the sweltering heat. "Indeed Ciel, an easy task and a routine trek into the outland territory. I see you have met Master K'Kerom. He is to watch over you both while on your mission for me. He will provide you with any service you may require to make you trip pleasant and comfortable. He will also be coordinating the menial tasks of the journey as well as overseeing your new... special training I have been eager to start you with. I believe you shall find the training a welcome distraction, but I must emphasize that you be mindful of your duty. I shall see you in a fortnight with your pleasant news of our brother Nightmares joining our cause. Make me proud Lady Ciel." He says with a wink and backs out of the carriage door.

She sat back against the seat and sighed. "Very well, Lady. I will call it work. If I can ever figure out how it is to go."
