Valentine turns to K'Kerom to look him up and down, her lips curling at the corners.
"Lady Trakand you do seem to collect teachers as other notable Ladies might collect jewels. I am glad you value knowledge so greatly."
She gets up to pour herself a glass of bloodwine, turning to speak to Ciel over her shoulder as she twirls an empty flute between her fingers.
"Well for the moment you have another lesson and those are always enjoyable, no?"

Ciel smiled at Valentine and squirmed in her seat. Apparently the Ambassador felt the need to praise her, so she would take it gracefully. "Yes, I seem to. Thank you for deeming me worthy of praise, Ambassador. I might try to relax now... and have a bit more of that vintage, if I may?"
She sat back more comfortably now, subtly crossing her legs. She smiled at Shadow and nodded. "So, Shadow, when was your induction into the Elite? Are you new?"

Regent speaks to the driver and soon the wagon begins it's lurching trek into the badlands of the west.
"Fare thee well my ladies, bring me an army worthy of the empire."
and in a blink of an eye with a shower of sparks and tiny pebbles he vanishes from sight.

Gray smiles at Valentine with a hint of charm at her obvious sizing him up. To her question he moves to the cabinet and takes the bottle to refill their glasses.
"My Lady Ambassador, I have been in the elite for a few years now. Though my specialty keeps me... away... from the members of the court, most functions and high profile affairs. That is unless I am there on an official capacity. Then it too is so brief, it is as though I was never there."
He says with a cool expression at his word play.
"I am new to this type of detail Ambassador, though as lord Regent has need to protect the rarest gem of the Empire. My orders are to be as discreet as possible. Though some of the higher ranked elite may have been better suited, they have been tasked with other assignments for the Regent. I am honored for this assignment and you rest easy as you are in good paws... More wine?"

Ciel sniffs slightly as Shadow makes his address to the wrong speaker. At least she found out what she wanted to know. She sighed and figured that it wouldn't be until she was a bonafide Lady of the court that any Elite besides Lysandor would ever take her seriously... or maybe she was just taking it too personally. Did things like this happen to other ladies?
She smiled through her confusion and listened to Shadow. After he finished she smoothed her dress unnecessarily as she'd seen other coquettish ladies do and laughed. "So you have communication with the other Elite, but you prefer to be your namesake. Am I correct?"

The elite looks sheepish to the question and his miss address.
"Sincerest apologies Lady, I have spent too much time away from the cordial pleasantry of the court and I have forgotten my manners. I am rather uneasy about this assignment, attending to the affairs of state. My attentions were elsewhere and my horrible focus of attentions will be corrected my lady." He says with a bow and a red face.
He pours her wine and stands stiff and silent not wanting to repeat the embarrassment.

Ciel smiled. "I do not blame you. I am a new Lady. I expected such things. However, I cannot start my ladyship with too much leniency. Just please see that it does not happen again. I am still learning, so I will forgive you."
She turned to Valentine and sighed. "Am I right in saying so, Ambassador?"

Valentine lifts a hand to hide her small smile and takes a sip of her bloodwine before answering them thoughtfully.
"You are both correct if one wishes be technical. Master Ke'Kerom, Your manners are rusty but that is a forgivable trespass in one who is not a courtier, if only once. However, my dear Lady, you are indeed an emissary and ambassador to King Silverflame's court. Therefore the address was not incorrect, simply unaccustomed."
She takes another drink and the sets down the glass, her gaze going from Ciel to Ke'Kerom as she lets them mull over her words. The ambassador settles in her seat, stretching out her crossed legs, the brocade of her dress sliding to the side and pooling prettily.

Slited eyes narrow and a nervous tick of wings make K'kerom look like a deer about to take flight into the thicket. Still he remains as he stares unblinking at Ciel holding the bottle at a steep tilt at her cup to fill it up again. He straightens and his eyes flash to Valentine and back again.
He takes a step back not only physically but mentally as he clears his throat. "As you wish..." he nearly whispers with a weak smile, mulling the conversation over in his head.
"Which title would milady prefer to be addressed? I ask... so I make a proper announcement to his majesty King Silverflame upon your arrival and introduction to the nightmare court."

Ciel looked at him and nodded. "If it pleases the Ambassador, you may address me as Lady Ciel Trakand, Envoy of his Darkness the Regent. And if it does not please her, then whatever I am, she will know and tell you. I am just as new at this as you are, Shadow. I want to learn as well."
She looked out of the window and forgot her manners and proper ways for a moment or two. She curled her legs up under her and put her chin on her knees. "Ambassador, is it always this way? Is it always written that a lady never fail? That seems like too lofty a goal for anyone to reach..."

Valentine arches her eyebrows at Ciel. "Never fail, Lady? Let me assure you that it is not so... A lady may indeed fail to achieve her goal. It is simply a matter of learning to turn whatever tools or information you have at hand to your advantage in all things." She looks to their male companion.
"Master K'Kerom... forgive me but I feel that Lady Trakand and I must review the weapons at her disposal. Such a conversation should be private between student and teacher, as I am sure you are well aware. If you would be so kind as to join the driver for a little while, we would be most grateful." She inclines her head to the Devilcat Pe'ri politely

K'Kerom bows to Valentine, trying to hide his expression of sheer relief. "Of course, Ambassador, I understand."
Without halting the carriage, he slips out an open carriage window. The two Succubi can barely hear a soft patter of footfalls over the sounds of the beasts of burden and carriage wheels turning, and even then, they might not notice it. That he let them hear that much was a courtesy to let them know when he was out of earshot.

After K'Kerom leaves earshot, Ciel looked over at Valentine from where she is. "I don't understand, Lady. I believe that I am more confused than when we started..."
She curls her arms around her legs and fidgets with the edges of her dress.

Valentine sighs, leaning towards Ciel. She smiles at her student, a knowing look in her eyes.
"My lady, that is it quite enough of that. Sit up properly." The words are sharp but her tone is gentle. Valentine stands and refills her flute with bloodwine.
"Now then... calm yourself." She walked around the carriage a little. Noting the single bed, laughed huskily and finally glanced back at Ciel.
"Relax your hands, Lady Trakand. Remind me of who and what you are."

At Valentine's reproach, she nodded, straightening herself into a proper sit, as Lady Tre'Maya instructed her. Back straight, knees where they should be...
She sat, poised, her chin tilted to look at the Ambassador strolling around the carriage. She relaxed her hands and stilled herself. "Is this better, Ambassador?"

She looks over the rim of her glass at Ciel and takes a sip before setting the glass down and making her way to her pupil. With a deft motion of her slippered foot, Valentine slides the younger succubi's feet into a more acceptable position. "Commit that to memory. But otherwise quite picturesque, well done. Are you calm now, Lady?" The Ambassador asks as she moves to retrieve her wine.
"If so, please repeat to me your name and your appropriate titles. I will correct you if you should misstep." Valentine settles herself lightly on her chair and looks at Ciel expectantly.

At the correction of her foot placement, Ciel nodded and did as she was instructed and committed it to memory. As sad as it was, she felt that perhaps she learned a lot with Tre'Maya, but she would learn much, much more with Valentine. And for that, she was inexplicably glad.
She raised her head and looked at Valentine and repeated herself. " I am Lady Ciel Trakand, Envoy of his Darkness the Regent, and Liaison to the High Court of Hell." She said it with as much conviction, and with great hope that she had learned as quickly as she'd hoped she had. She so did not want to fail her former teachers...

“Yes. You are. “ Valentine says softly, her golden eyes intent on the younger succubi’s. “I know you have worried about what that means. Fretted over it like any fledgling coming into her power. But in your fear you are forgetting something vital. You have power now.” She takes a drink, breaking her eye contact with Ciel.
“If you so chose you could ask for my death, and the Chancellor would listen. If you presented your reasons well enough I might even be executed.” Valentine raises her eyebrows, seeming utterly unconcerned for her life. “
An insult to you is an insult to the empire of Hell its self. And,” The ambassador smiles, a sensual twist of her lips. “You are very new to your position and considered, my dear terribly innocent. Quite possibly, because you are. Any slights you may make will likely be assumed to be the fault of your charming naivety, and rather than go to war against the empire, the slighted one will likely let it pass.”
Her look turns briefly severe. “I will, however, be with you most of the time. We will review at the end of each day, where you did misstep so that you can correct yourself. So if you must fear and fret about someone’s anger it should be mine alone. Of course I will also reward you when you excel… and I have no doubt you will.” She laughs softly looking at Ciel over the rim of her glass, her eyes warming just a little.
"Now. Any questions, Lady?"

Ciel's sensual sensibilities kicked in at the mention of reward. She smiled devilishly and nodded to Valentine. "No questions, Milady. Simple excitement will do for now."
She looked out of the carriage window, thinking of what she would learn from Val and exactly what type of wonderful torture it would be.
