The second Great War with heaven. A war that’s outcome would shape the destiny of earth and its adjoining realms, bringing about chaos. The great lord of the darkness, Lucifer, bound the factions of a divided hell to him and amassed his fallen brethren to march against the holy kingdom. His great black tide swept undefeated all the way to the pearly gates where they fell upon the last resistance of heavens forces. Wave after wave of the dread lord’s armies crashed into the gates of heaven, and it seemed paradise would fall before the relentless siege.
Desperate the marshal of the holy army, Archangel Michael, lead a last ditch counter attack straight into the heart of the invaders horde. A climactic battle ensued, but in the end both armies’ generals met in mortal combat above the field of battle. Both Michael and hell’s master were slain in the duel.
Without their lord’s leadership to bind them together, hell’s forces were quickly routed and forced to retreat.
But they were unprepared for the sudden loss of hells unholy liege, the underworld kingdom tethered on the brink of collapse. The only semblance of stability now rested on hell’s throne and Lucifer’s youngest child, the daughter-heir Ereshkigal. Both these pieces became coveted by those who would desire power for themselves, but time and time again Ereshkigal proved herself the rightful ruler of the dammed. Although young and inexperienced, Ereshkigal possessed enough power to reign supreme over hells denizens, should she live long enough to learn to control it.
Then the Queen of Darkness disappeared and the breakdown began.
